A central place to collect and process feedback

Table of content:

  1. Introduction

The Inbox is the place where everything starts in Cycle.

All customer input will be centralized there: direct customer feedback coming from various sources (think Slack, Intercom, Zapier, Hubspot, etc), but also your customer interviews (Cycle has a rich text editor).

Starting from your Inbox, you’ll be able to process all feedback sources and extract relevant insights that will feed your product discovery workflow.

To connect your tool stack to your Cycle workspace and start collecting feedback from multiple sources, head over to your "workspace settings" > "integrations". Every time feedback is created from an integration, we will display the icon of the source integration it came from and the linked customer.

Every feedback you create will always have an assignee, a customer, and a status.

  • Assignee – The person in charge of closing the loop with customers

  • Customer – The person who provided the feedback

  • Status - Indicates if the feedback has been processed yet

By default, when you create feedback manually in your workspace, it will be assigned to you, and you will also be the feedback's customer.

When the feedback is created from an integration, Cycle either maps it to one of your existing Cycle customers or creates a new one. You will also be assigned to the feedback.

You can always edit the assignee and customer of a feedback later on.

Like every other doc in Cycle, you can insert content templates, files, media and also embed files from other tools like Figma designs, Miro boards, Loom recordings, Pitch slidedecks and more.

Feedback dropzone

By now, you know that we're obsessed about building the fastest feedback capture ever created. "How could this be even more frictionless" is a question we ask ourselves every day.

We've found that the most natural way for you to capture feedback is to take a screenshot and drop it somewhere – no thinking, no hassle, just drop it.

Drop any image, audio, video, or PDF or link in the dropzone and let the magic happen as the new pieces of feedback appear in your inbox 🀯

There's more… Cycle generates optical character recognition for your images… as well as transcripts for your audio and video files… automatically 🀯

Got a new product idea or just had a cool convo with a customer you'd want to summarize? Just record yourself and get the transcript... automatically!

Got a Loom link or a Notion doc like a user interview with a bug? Paste it and as a result, you’ll get a new piece of feedback with the embedded file and the transcript ✨

NB: Make sure to verify in Notion which pages you’re sharing with Cycle to make it work.

Feedback island (mini feedback dropzone)

From anywhere in the app, just drag & drop a file or a screenshot and watch the island do its magic. 🍿

Our favorite use case? Drag & drop a file into the feedback island, automatically fetch the text with OCR, make sure feedback autopilot is toggled on, hit "Create feedback," and watch new insights emerge by themselves.✨

Once uploaded, you can validate in 1-click the creation of pieces of feedback.

Product summary

You can automate the creation of a product summary for your all incoming feedback – it basically lists the key feedback points at the top of the feedback docs.

This is very useful for long feedback, such as support talks or sales call transcripts, when you only want to see the product-related parts.

Create filtered views

By default, your workspace will have views in your Inbox: "All" and "My Inbox".

  • The "All" view shows all the feedback in the workspace.

  • The "My Inbox" view only shows the feedback you're assigned to.

But feedback isn't all the same. Some teams like to split the feedback Inbox on specific properties such as the type of feedback, its source, a major customer, you name it.

Here's how you can create a filtered view of your inbox.

To edit or delete a filtered view, simply click on the filtered view's name.

Fly through feedback

We want to make it a smooth & enjoyable experience to process feedback. That's why Inbox has been designed from the ground up to be keyboard first. That way, you can process, sort and move through your feedback without breaking your focus.

  • Ctrl + ⇧ + E to mark as processed

  • Ctrl + ⇧ + J to move to next feedback

  • Ctrl + ⇧ + K to move to previous feedback

  • ⇧ + space to preview

If you're more of a "mouse" person 🐭, the "mark processed" button will automatically change a feedback's status from "To process" to "Processed"

You can either do this one feedback at a time or in bulk 😎

Pro tip: power users in Cycle plan recurring feedback processing sessions in the Inbox
