🐣 First steps
Cycle centralizes all your feedback sources, letting you seamlessly gather, organize, and act on user feedback. Here’s how to set up Cycle and make the most of its core features.
We recommend starting small and then customizing the tool according to your needs.
1 - Connect your main feedback source and start sending feedback
The best way to get started is to establish a routine of sending feedback to Cycle. Cycle integrates with most tools, but we recommend starting with only one integration and then adding more.
Install your sources: Go to Home > Manage sources and install your single most valuable source of product feedback.
Sending Feedback from Slack: To send feedback from Slack, simply add the bike emoji to any message, then confirm it. More information on Slack here.
Sending Feedback from Intercom: In Intercom, tag any conversation with the
cycle
tag. This triggers an automatic sync, creating a new feedback entry in Cycle. More information on Intercom here.Sending Feedback via Email: Forward any feedback email to your unique Cycle address. Attachments, screenshots, and additional context will be included automatically. More information here.
💡 Tip: You can also DND screenshots or paste Loom links in our feedback dropzone.

2 - Import 10 features from Linear or any issue-tracking tool
Now that you’re collecting feedback, the next step is to track and align it with your roadmap. Import features directly from your issue-tracking tool or create them within Cycle.
We recommend importing features you want to map feedback to, for instance, the top 10-30 features you plan to ship in the next 3 months. Stay high-level and create more "initiatives" than "user stories".
Examples “Miro Integration”, “Dark Mode”, "Automated reporting".
Import from Linear: Go to Settings > Integrations > Linear > Settings, and follow the prompts to sync projects and/or issues into Cycle. This enables real-time status update as you progress.
Manual Creation: For features not in Linear, create them manually in Cycle to ensure every roadmap item is accounted for.
Categorize Features: Once imported, organize your features by product area. Product area is a default property in Cycle; just rename the options to get started. Eg: “Integrations,” “AI,” or “UX/UI”. This will help you to organize your feedback & features.
💡 Tip: Bulk updates properties as illustrated here below.
3 - Process feedback (Manually or with AI)
With feedback collected and features ready, it’s time to process and map feedback to relevant features. Cycle offers both manual and AI-powered options for flexibility. Try to get to inbox 0 once a week.
Manual Processing: For hands-on control, highlight relevant text in feedback entries and manually link it to the appropriate feature. For instance, if feedback relates to “Real-Time Data Processing,” select and tag it with that feature.
AI Processing: Cycle’s AI can extract key quotes and auto-suggest feature mappings, speeding up the process. Use Extract Quotes to let AI identify and map essential parts of feedback. For example, if feedback includes comments on “Call Recorders,” AI will detect this and suggest linking it to that feature. Review and confirm AI suggestions to finalize.
We'll cover how to improve AI result quality in the next section.
Once you've extracted all quotes from a piece of feedback, click on the "Mark as processed" button to update its status.
4 - Request your dashboard once you reach 25 quotes
Cycle’s dashboard is your insights hub, helping you spot patterns and prioritize based on data. After gathering 25 quotes, your dashboard will start displaying trends automatically.
Filter and Analyze: Use filters to view trends by ARR impact, timeframes, or customer segments. For example, you might filter by high-paying customers to understand their top requests from the past 90 days. This insight can help you prioritize development for key accounts. More information on dashboard here.
Get AI summaries: Select "Summarize Feedback" to generate an AI summary of all quotes that match your filters.
Customer profiles: Get a deeper look at individual customer or company feedback. You can get a summary of what they are asking for and what requests the most attention.
5 - Shipped a feature? Close the loop internally and externally
Once you've shipped a feature, updating its status in Cycle will automatically keep everyone informed internally. If you have a shared Slack channel, users can also be notified. —both internal teams and customers.
Everyone with a Cycle account (free or paid seat) can access any view in Cycle. Just type cmd+K and you'll see the status of what you're interested in.
Customer-facing teams will also get internal notes on status updates directly in their tools.
Notes:
Status Sync with Linear: Cycle syncs with Linear, so any status updates in Linear (e.g., moving a feature to “In Progress” or “Shipped”) will reflect in Cycle automatically.
We're working on helping you to close the loop with customers directly from Cycle. Stay stuned! 👀
By following these steps, you’ll be equipped to leverage Cycle’s full potential, ensuring feedback is seamlessly managed and product decisions are data-driven.
✨ Calibrate your AI
In a nutshell here are the key steps to calibrate your AI:
Update your product description in your Settings > General
Create the features you'd like the feedback to be mapped to
Validate > 1 quote for each feature
If you'd like the AI to spot additional things than just features, you can also create Problems or Kudos for instance.
